OLIVER DESIGN has carried out the interior design and turnkey interiors of the patrol boat “Cosaint” built in Armón Burela for the Revenue Maritime Unit, a specialized unit within the Irish government agency known as the Revenue Commissioners (Irish Tax and Customs) whose main mission is the fight against smuggling and customs control at sea.
The boat is designed to carry out inspections and maritime operations, it is a state-of-the-art seat patrol boat, 35 meters long and hybrid electric-diesel capacity, which gives it a maximum speed of 18 knots and an autonomy of 750 nautical miles.
It will improve the capacity of the Revenue Maritime Unit, responsible for patrolling the 3,173 km of Ireland’s long coast. Among its tasks are surveillance and prohibition of smuggling operations, although it also carries out SAR (Search and Rescue) and other State work at sea.
